For certain shared printers in peer-to-peer networks, we are still seeing issues triggered by the November 9 updates. While Microsoft has released out-of-band updates for authentication issues, they have not put the same priority on printing issues triggered by the updates.

This issue occurs after you install the November 9, , security updates on domain controllers DCs that are running Windows Server, and you need to install this update on your domain controllers to fix this issue.

Could we still see printing issues? Even though the 55 vulnerabilities fixed in November do not include any new Print Spooler updates, we are still to some extent in clean-up mode. Microsoft is at least acknowledging that issues remain that it is trying to fix. Is group policy on Windows 10 Home possible? I am enticed by the potential. Cool, says I — an easier way to help control Windows updates on a Windows 10 computer.

But it comes with a hitch. A tiny hitch. With new features that are interesting only to businesses, this feature release will serve only one purpose — that of providing you with lifecycle support for several years. In other words, not much that will excite most of us. I strongly recommend that you use either group policy or the registry key methods to keep yourself on 21H1 at this time.

You can review your options to defer feature releases. For consumer and home users, I recommend that you push off updates until right before Thanksgiving, no sooner than November Do remember my mantra.

By now hopefully , you have found a resolution to any printing problems that have been driving you insane over the last several months. If not, we can hope that the November updates will include more printing fixes. We already know that the preview updates released at the end of October helped to fix issues for some.

Those patches will be included in the November update releases, because Windows 10 patches are always cumulative. The October updates are again triggering issues with some — but not all — printers.

This month, printing problems are rearing their heads with older platforms hosting the print server. After reviewing many postings describing this situation, I find the operating systems on the older platforms are no longer being updated and thus not getting the PrintNightmare fixes. Then, when client workstations that have been updated try to print, printing fails. Windows 11 has 39 vulnerabilities; two of the fixes are deemed critical and 37 are important.

KB also includes several fixes that, according to reports, impact performance on specific computers. Not ready to move to Windows 11? PC not compatible? Block it!
