Windows xp wpa2 support sp2
The network was visible to the laptop, but on trying to connect, the above error would come up. The error message is not very helpful, as the network was obviously in range and my laptop and smartphone both showed full signal strength.
Amazingly, even a service tech could not fix the issue. After much troubleshooting and trial-and-error, I found that the issue is caused by Windows XP itself. SP2 supports WPA2 after installing the necessary software. The easiest method is to update to SP3, as this provides WPA network access natively, with zero configuration and no additional software installation required. Changing to WEP is not recommended, as it is easily hackable.
There are tons of tutorials online anyone can follow and crack your password and use your internet connection for free. However, in cases where updating your laptop to SP3 is not possible, or this can be used.
Thats probably what my problem was! I was reconfiguring my wlan the other day and I tried to use wpa2 with radius. No dice. The utility could see it but I couldn't connect. The two laptops I was trying to connect to the AP were both up to date with all critical and optional updates. So, if neither of those machines got the update Very helpful for people who quit smoking and used to smoke at their computers Helps out with the urges. October 11th, , PM 3.
I have always had to manually install support for WPA2 for machines I was setting up, even new ones, except my Toshiba laptop Toshiba installed it for me.

Good luck! Christer ,. Nick, you're welcome! Nor have I found SP3 available for download. It seems like the best course of action would be to retire those computers and go shopping.
I mean, Win XP has been superseeded by Vista, which has been superseeded by Win 7, which has been superseeded by Win 8, you know were I'm going with this I still believe that the best course of action is to retire those computers with an old, insecure operating system but since SP3 is still available from Microsoft, I leave it to you to decide. If you do, I will not, repeat NOT be able to assist if anyting goes wrong! SP3 from Microsoft Update Catalog After clicking "download", choose your language and where to save it.
